Bryan, Paul L, Jean, Judith, Lee and me (Susan) made our way down to the
Moravian Settlement
in Droylsden to 'man the stall' at the craft fair and sell some of our own
herbal produce (together with some other bits and pieces) but mainly, it
was to publicise the work of the MTVCA.
It was the first airing of our new uniforms - we were the boys and girls
in blue and DID stand out in the crowd AND looked very professional t'boot!
Lee and Susan had put together a powerpoint presentation on the laptop of
many of the public events/workdays and days out we had had. This continually
looped throughout the afternoon.
Application forms were available on the stall together with our new table-top
noticeboard, kindly donated by Judith which contained more information about
the group and the reasons for our existence.
We were well cared for during the day with tea and coffee on tap and it was
interesting to strike up conversations with people who were obviously sympathetic
with our aims and objectives.
Nigel and Anne, two of our members, popped in to support the stall. Nigel
kindly donated some herbs for the sale and Anne's daughter made a lovely
contribution of knitted robins and ladybirds. Thank you to them both!
We sold various plants/books/knitted birds and insects throughout the day
and managed to get 5 new interested parties added to our mailing list so
we achieved our aims in going there and hope to be there next year again.
