Debby
Cantlon, who plans to release Finnegan, the young squirrel, back into the
wild, bottle-fed the infant squirrel after it was brought to her house..
When Cantlon took in the tiny creature and began caring for him, she found
herself with an unlikely nurse's aide: her pregnant Papillion, Mademoiselle
Giselle.
Finnegan was resting in a nest in a cage just days before Giselle was due
to deliver her puppies.
Cantlon and her husband watched as the dog dragged the squirrel's cage twice
to her own bedside before she gave birth.
Cantlon was concerned, yet ultimately decided to allow the squirrel out and
the inter-species bonding began.
Finnegan rides a puppy mosh pit of sorts, burrowing in for warmth after feeding,
eventually working his way beneath his new litter mates.
Two days after giving birth, mama dog Giselle allowed Finnegan to nurse;
family photos and a videotape show her encouraging him to suckle alongside
her litter of five pups.
Now, Finnegan mostly uses a bottle, but still snuggles with his 'siblings'
in a moshpit of puppies, rolling atop their bodies, and sinking in deeply
for a nap.
Finnegan and his new litter mates, five Papillion puppies, get along together
as if they were meant to.
Finnegan naps after feeding.
Finnegan makes himself at home with his new litter mates, nuzzling nose-to-nose
for a nap after feeding.
Send this along to brighten someone's day!
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all get along like Finnegan and the gang?
MORAL OF THE STORY: Keep loving everyone, even the squirrelly ones...
Nutty: Sneezy the squirrel (Picture: Mary Krupa /

A fun-loving squirrel who loves to dress up in an array of nutty hats has
become a star attraction at a US university.
Sneezy the squirrels popularity has soared after the animal struck
up an unlikely friendship with animal-loving student Mary Krupa at Penn State
University in Pennsylvania.
A bond that began over a packet of shared nuts quickly blossomed, with the
18-year-old undergraduate soon feeling confident enough to dress Sneezy in
a range of assorted homemade hats.

One day I was sitting under a tree and some kids nearby were feeding
a group of squirrels and they werent running away so I decided
to try the same thing, she explained.
They got friendlier and friendlier, particularly Sneezy, but I honestly
dont know what inspired me to put hats on her I just wanted
to see what I could do as it was funny.
I had a tiny doll hat with me and tried it. Amazingly she sat there
with it on long enough for me to take a picture. It was so cute.

Sneezy is now proving a hit online as well as with students, while Ms Krupa
has become known on campus as the Squirrel Whisperer.
We have had lots of positive reaction so far everyone in town
and on campus loves it and we have received over 6,000 likes on our Facebook
page, she added.
In total I have probably made and photographed a few more than 20 hats
and plan to keep on going as long as Sneezy is enjoying it too.
