Bog Garden

As discussed at last meeting I am encl. the costings for this years main site project ie Bog Garden, together with materials list & work procedure plan.

Procedure to create bog garden project

A] Dig out existing old tree roots in way of layout

B] Move existing old pond structures to one side.

C] Mark out with string lines the overall space envelope of garden.

D] Dig out sunken features of overall shape putting clay & soil to one side .

E] Use sand to obtain reasonable smooth surface to sunken features.

F] Present pond liner to profile trim to size allowing suff. over lap.

G] Site slate stones in suit. positions around lip of sunken feature & cement to bind together

whilst cement still wet cover with pea gravel for decorative effect.

H] Punch some holes in liner so that water retention is limited & line with limestone chippings

J] Plant up garden with water loving bog plants & surrounds with ferns & other shade loving plants
